In the end, Kamindu Mendis played an unbeaten innings of 23 runs off 19 balls to take Sri Lanka close to 250. No other batsman could do anything special. Riyan Parag, who made his debut for India in this match, took three wickets for 54 runs in 9 overs. Apart from him, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Axar Patel took one wicket each.
It will not be easy for India to chase this score. If the team has to draw this series, then this match has to be won at all costs. The first match of this series was a tie. Whereas Sri Lanka defeated India by 32 runs in the second match.
