In the end, Kamindu Mendis played an unbeaten innings of 23 runs off 19 balls to take Sri Lanka close to 250. No other batsman could do anything special. Riyan Parag, who made his debut for India in this match, took three wickets for 54 runs in 9 overs. Apart from him, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Axar Patel took one wicket each.
