Before him, Mohammed Shami was out due to being unfit while Ishan Kishan has also withdrawn his name due to personal reasons.
Abhimanyu Easwaran plays for Bengal in domestic cricket. 28-year-old Abhimanyu has so far scored a total of 6567 runs in 88 first-class matches at an average of 47.24 with 22 centuries and 26 half-centuries. At the same time, in List A cricket, Abhimanyu has scored a total of 3847 runs in 88 matches at an average of 47.49 with 9 centuries and 23 half-centuries.
Abhimanyu plays domestic cricket as an opening batsman. He scored the most runs for Bengal in the 2018-19 Ranji season. He scored 861 runs in only six matches of that season. Abhimanyu was selected as a standby player for the home series to be played against England in January 2021. After this he was a standby player in the World Test Championship Final 2019-21. It remains to be seen whether he will be given a chance to debut this time or not.
