South Africa has taken an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series by registering a big win by an innings and 32 runs in the Centurion Test against India. At the same time, South African captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of the Test series against India due to injury. Dean Elgar will be seen captaining South Africa in the second and last match of the series. This match will be the last Test match of Elgar's career. Zubair Hamza will be included in the team in place of Bavuma.

According to ICC, Cricket South Africa has confirmed that Temba Bavuma is out of the Test series against India. Temba Bavuma was injured while fielding on the first day of the Centurion Test. He played no further role in the match after scans confirmed a hamstring strain.

In place of Temba Bavuma, Dean Elgar will now take command of the team in the last Test match of his international career. Zubair Hamza will be included in the replacement team for the second and final test of the series. This test match will be played in Cape Town from 3 January.

Talking about the first test of India vs South Africa, India batted first and scored 245 runs on the scoreboard thanks to KL Rahul's century. After this South Africa scored 408 runs in its first innings. India's batsmen also performed disappointingly in the second innings and the entire team was reduced to just 131 runs. In this way, South Africa won this match by an innings and 32 runs.
