IND vs IRE: Very unique coincidence for the Indian team in T20I, this did not happen even under the captaincy of Dhoni-Kohli.

A unique coincidence happened for India in the first T20 match against Ireland. For the first time, 5 or more batsmen were left-handed in India's playing XI in T20. Earlier in any format of cricket, it happened during the Victoria Batter Series. Then 5 or more batsmen were left-handed in the playing eleven of a team.

IND vs IRE: Very unique coincidence for the Indian team in T20I, this did not happen even under the captaincy of Dhoni-Kohli.

The first T20 match between India and Ireland (IND vs IRE) was played on 18 August. In this rain-affected match, India won by 2 runs according to the Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method. Batting first, Ireland scored 139 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the target, the Indian team scored 47 runs losing 2 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah, captaining T20 for the first time, won the toss and decided to bowl first. Bumrah, who is returning to international cricket after almost a year, made his comeback successful by giving success to the team in the very first over. The latter, along with the famous Krishna K and Arshdeep Singh, left no stone unturned to destroy Ireland's innings.

This match was where Rinku Singh and the famous Krishna made their international debuts for India. At the same time, India got to see a unique coincidence in this match. In fact, in the first T20 match against Ireland, 5 or more players in India's playing XI were left-handed. This was the first time in the history of Indian T20 cricket.

The last time before this in any format was during the Victoria Batter (VB) series in Australia in 2004 when a team had 5 or more batsmen in their playing XI. Now in the year 2023, this has happened in Indian T20 cricket.

India's playing XI for 1st T20: Rituraj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (wk), Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey, Washington Sundar, Famous Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Jaspreet Bumrah (c), Ravi Bishnoi
