IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma created history in the 'Baseball' era, became the first captain of the world to achieve this feat

On Sunday, captain Rohit Sharma made history by declaring the start of India's second innings in Rajkot. Since the baseball era began, Rohit Sharma has become the first captain in history to declare the innings. By announcing the innings, Rohit Sharma had drawn back Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan.

On the fourth day of the third Test, India declared their second innings at 430/4, setting a massive target of 557 runs for England to win. Under the direction of Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes, England played 20 matches before this test, winning 14, losing five, and drawing one. However, no team against England ever announced their innings.

The Indian team scored 445 runs in the first innings of the Rajkot Test, in response to which England were all out for 319 runs in the first innings. England had made a strong counterattack on the second day, but could not maintain their hold on the third day and were reduced to 319 runs in the first innings. In this way, the host team got a lead of 126 runs based on the first innings.

After this, based on the good innings of Yashasvi Jaiswal (214*), Shubman Gill (91) and Sarfaraz Khan (68*), India declared its second innings against helpless England. After this, Jadeja played a big role in wrapping up the English innings on the fourth day itself. Jadeja took 5 wickets in the second innings of England.

India bowled out England's second innings for 122 runs and registered the biggest win by runs in its Test history. This was England's most embarrassing defeat in terms of runs. With this victory, the Indian team took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The fourth test of the series will be played in Ranchi on 23 February.
