IND vs ENG ODI Series 2025: BCCI again updated the Indian team; Bumrah was dropped
Team India Updated Squad for IND vs ENG ODI Series: Jasprit Bumrah was included in the initial team selected for the 3-match ODI series against England but now his name is not in the team.
Jasprit Bumrah has been officially ruled out for the 3-match ODI series to be played with England. On Tuesday, when Varun Chakraborty was added to the team by the BCCI, it uploaded the new team's list as well. India cricket selection committee added Varun Chakraborty in India's 3-match ODI series with England.
Varun took 14 wickets, and five wickets in Rajkot in the recently completed 5-match T20 series with England. Varun even became the best player of the series for his out-of-ordinary performance in bowling. Varun joined ODI team in Nagpur.
When the BCCI updated the team for the ODI series against England, Jasprit Bumrah's name was not in it. The selectors had initially selected 2 teams for 3 matches. Harshit Rana was included in the squad for the first two ODIs, while Bumrah was kept in place of Rana for the third match. Now in the team updated by the BCCI, Harshit Rana has been retained in the squad for all three matches, while Bumrah has been dropped.
Old team selected for the ODI series: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana (for the first two ODIs), Jasprit Bumrah (only for the third ODI), Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh.
