In Uttarakhand's Tehri, a landslide causes a wall to fall, burying a woman and her daughter
In the Tehri district of Uttarakhand, heavy rains on Saturday caused a landslide that destroyed several homes and businesses. Beneath the rubble lay a 42-year-old lady and her adolescent daughter.
According to authorities, rescuers in Toli village extricated the remains of Sarita Devi and 15-year-old Ankita from beneath the rubble. According to District Magistrate (DM) Mayur Dikshit, their house was buried in debris after a retaining wall fell.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, gave the order for staff to stay on high alert and to help people impacted by the landslide right away.
The flooded Dharmganga river destroyed numerous stores in Budhakedar, while the landslide and floodwaters also caused damage to a number of bridges. According to authorities, residents along the river have been relocated to safer areas.
