In cricket like baseball, 'knuckle ball' will rotate zigzag, batsmen will come; Research done for the first time in IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur's Department of Aerospace Engineering, after a long research on the aerodynamics of the knuckleball being thrown in cricket, has found a way to throw the ball, which will make the ball spin zigzag in cricket-like baseball. This will make it even more difficult for the batsmen to play this ball. The cricket knuckleball still doesn't spin in the air like a baseball ball.
The Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kanpur, after long research on the aerodynamics of the ball used in cricket, has found a way to throw the ball, which will make the ball move zigzag in cricket like baseball. This will make it even more difficult for the batsmen to play this ball.
Cricket's knuckleball does not yet spin in the air like a baseball ball. Bowlers have invented the knuckleball, similar to baseball pitchers, but instead of swinging zigzags, it goes straight at batters. For the first time in the world, scientific research has been done on knuckleball at IIT Kanpur.
Professor of Aerospace Engineering at IIT. Sanjay Mittal and his student Kunjal Shah have studied the aerodynamics of baseball and cricket knuckleballs and all points including seam, and speed of the ball. Pro. Mittal said that the bowlers who bowled experts in throwing the knuckle ball, bowled, in which the angle of the seam and the speed of rotation of the seam were high.
Experiments conducted at the National Wind Tunnel at IIT Kanpur showed that if the ball is bowled at a speed of 115 kmph and the seam tilt is 30 degrees, the ball released from the bowler's hand, while reaching the batsman, completes the seam. Instead of rotating the wheel, if it does only half a revolution, then the air pressure on the ball from up-down and right-left will make the ball's route zigzag. Bowlers will get the benefit of this study.
A knuckleball is thrown in baseball, and it moves forward in a zigzag manner, cricket's knuckleball has all the qualities, but there is no zigzag root, it is a knuckleball. The index finger and middle finger are used for knuckleball. While releasing the ball, the bowler pushes the ball with the tip of the fingers or the nail like knocking on a door (nose). That's why it was called Nakal Baal. There is no change in the action and speed of the hand while throwing this ball, but when the ball leaves the hand, it does not move.
