Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan can be arrested anytime. During a rally in Islamabad, Imran had openly threatened women, judges and police officers. An FIR was registered against Khan in this case under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Police have tightened security on the road leading to Imran's bungalow. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the vice-president of his party PTI, says that the government is planning to arrest Imran Khan. Amidst fears of arrest, Pakistani media has claimed that Imran Khan is missing from the house.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) immediately banned the live telecast of Imran Khan's speeches. Police are also going to take legal action. According to media reports, Rangers have been put on alert and Khan can be arrested at any time.
According to PEMRA- Khan has violated Article 19 of the Constitution. Imran Khan is constantly making baseless allegations against the country's army, police and judiciary. His speeches are spreading hatred.
Imran had said during a rally organized at F9 Park in Islamabad on 20 August – Pakistan's police is arresting my party leaders on the instructions of someone. When I asked the police why Shahbaz Gill has been arrested, the police said that they were just following orders.
Not only this, Khan accused a woman judge of being biased against her party and threatened to look at her. He said- Judiciary should also prepare itself for the consequences. Khan also threatened the woman judge who ordered Gill to be taken on remand, saying that action would be taken against the judge as well. Be ready to judge.
Shahbaz Gill was arrested by the police on 9 August. At the time of his arrest, Gill was going to Imran's house in Banigala in a luxury car. He had made very poor statements about the Pakistani army and judiciary in the past. This angered the army and the government. Hence he was arrested. At that time it was believed that the police could arrest Imran too.
According to the Pakistani news website The News, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) can arrest Imran Khan in the case of illegal funding from many countries including India. The FIA can also investigate the funds and accounts of Imran's party PTI. For this, the agency can seek permission from the court. If Imran does not appear before the inquiry committee or does not respond to the notice regarding the illegal funding case, he will be arrested.
According to reports, the final decision to arrest Imran Khan can be taken after giving him 3 notices. On Friday, he was given a second notice. According to 'Geo News', Pakistan's elite security unit Rangers has been put on alert for Imran's arrest.
