He was out of the Pakistan cricket team for a long time. With this, Wasim has decided to withdraw from the current National T20 Cup to participate in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League. This decision has been confirmed by Islamabad team coach Junaid Khan.
Junaid Khan revealed that Imad is envisioning his future in league cricket, which has led him to make the move to T10 cricket. Junaid Khan said, "Imad feels that his future is better in league cricket, so he decided to play in the T10 league." However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to issue the NOC as the higher authorities are trying to ensure the participation of all players in the ongoing tournament.

34-year-old Imad had played 55 ODI and 66 T-20 international matches for the Pakistan team. In ODI cricket, he scored 986 runs at an average of 42.86. Took 44 wickets in 53 innings at an economy rate of 4.88. In T-20 International, he scored 486 runs at an average of 15.18. In 65 innings, he managed to take 65 wickets at an economy rate of 6.26.
