As soon as you notice that you have had a suspicious credit/debit card transaction, inform your bank immediately and lodge a formal complaint. Apart from this, you can block your card by calling the customer care number of the bank.
You can lodge a written complaint with your bank but before that, you must bring with you the bank statement of your bank for the last six months, a copy of the SMS received regarding the said transaction, your ID proof, and address proof as shown in the bank records. Keep the copy with you.
With these documents, you can file a complaint with the bank. If you are one of those people who have been cheated because of an app, then take a screenshot of that app and file it in the bank.
After registering a complaint with the bank, you should also file a written complaint with your nearest police station.
