The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday announced the formation of a dedicated task force to assist Afghanistan's displaced women cricketers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, England, and Australia Cricket Board joined hands for this at the ICC Executive Committee meeting held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
ICC President Jay Shah said that its purpose is to assist in the development of these talented cricketers. In this, the ICC will create a dedicated fund, from which these cricketers will be provided the necessary resources to continue the game.
Meanwhile, the ICC's men's and women's cricket committees were also announced. Sourav Ganguly was re-appointed as the chairman of the men's cricket committee, while VVS Laxman was made a member. Apart from him, Hamid Hassan, Desmond Haynes, Temba Bavuma, and Jonathan Trott are also included in this committee.
