ICC ready to organize Champions Trophy even without Pakistan
The ICC is ready to organize the Champions Trophy with or without Pakistan, as the cricket boards of other countries are supporting BCCI instead of PCB.
The ICC held a meeting with all the members regarding the schedule of the Champions Trophy yesterday i.e. 29 November. The surprising thing is that this virtual meeting ended after just 15 minutes of conversation. According to a report, after trying to end the deadlock between PCB and BCCI, the ICC has decided that this is the right time to choose a side. The ICC is now ready to organize the Champions Trophy with or without Pakistan, as the cricket boards of other countries are supporting the BCCI instead of the PCB.
Because most of the spectators, along with revenue, belong to BCCI and its cricket team. If PCB doesn't agree to a hybrid model, ICC seems ready to take the whole Champions Trophy 2025 out of Pakistan. There has to be an announcement 100 days before any event, and that deadline expired in this tussle between the BCCI and PCB as well.
It was believed that the meeting of the ICC with its member countries over the issue would drag on for hours, but it wrapped up in 15 minutes flat as the PCB refused to move from its stand. No other board supported their protest during the meeting and gave its tacit consent to the BCCI. Now it is believed if no conclusion is reached soon the tournament can be shifted out of Pakistan altogether.
According to a TOI report, all the members of the ICC are aware of India's stand and agree with their decision not to travel to Pakistan due to a lack of approval from the government. At this time, do not be surprised if the tournament is played outside Pakistan and also without Pakistan. If the PCB does not accept the hybrid model, then this is also likely to happen.
