ICC gave another big blow to Sri Lanka Cricket Board, snatched hosting of Under-19 World Cup; Now the tournament will be played in this country

The problems of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board are not showing signs of diminishing. After suspending the Cricket Board, the ICC has now snatched away the hosting of the Under-19 World Cup. The Under-19 World Cup will now be played in South Africa instead of Sri Lanka. The Under-19 World Cup is to start from January 14 and the final match of the tournament is to be played on February 15, 2024.

Taking a big decision, the ICC has decided to organize the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa instead of Sri Lanka. The International Cricket Council has taken this step after suspending the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. Let us tell you that due to the interference of the government, the ICC suspended the Sri Lanka Cricket Board with immediate effect.

However, ICC has made it clear that the Sri Lankan cricket team will be able to participate in the Under-19 World Cup. Sri Lanka will play in the tournament like other teams, which has been confirmed by the International Cricket Council itself. Losing the hosting of the World Cup is certainly a big blow for the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

The Under-19 World Cup is to start from January 14, 2024. The tournament will now be organized on South African soil. The final match of the Under-19 World Cup will be played on 15 February. That means, after fighting a month-long battle, the Under-19 champion team will be decided.

However, the tournament will clash with the dates of the South Africa T20 League, which is scheduled to be held between January 10 and February 10. Despite this, the South African Cricket Board says that the board will be successful in organizing both the tournaments well.
