The problems of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board are not showing signs of diminishing. After suspending the Cricket Board, the ICC has now snatched away the hosting of the Under-19 World Cup. The Under-19 World Cup will now be played in South Africa instead of Sri Lanka. The Under-19 World Cup is to start from January 14 and the final match of the tournament is to be played on February 15, 2024.

However, the tournament will clash with the dates of the South Africa T20 League, which is scheduled to be held between January 10 and February 10. Despite this, the South African Cricket Board says that the board will be successful in organizing both the tournaments well.
