BCCI Secretary Jay Shah was elected the new chief of ICC on 27 August. He has been elected unopposed as only one nomination emerged for this post. The outgoing Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary takes over the post as ICC Chairman from December 1 after two terms from 2019 to 2024. He will be the 5th Indian to hold this prestigious post after Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan and Shashank Manohar. Jay Shah has grown his business in the same way as he has taken BCCI to new heights. Jay Shah has more assets as compared to Home Minister father Amit Shah.

According to a TOI report, Jay Shah's estimated net worth in 2024 is Rs 124 crore. Most of his revenue has come from his business ventures. According to the report, he owns 60 per cent shares in Kusum Finserv and was also a director in Temple Enterprise. Jay Shah joined the Finance and Marketing Committee in BCCI in 2015. After this, he was elected as the board secretary in 2019.

At the same time, talking about Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in the affidavit given for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, he and his wife had total assets of Rs 65.67 crore. In this way, Amit Shah has about half the wealth of Jay Shah.

If media reports are to be believed, Jay Shah gets Rs 40 thousand per day for meetings and domestic business class travel, as decided in the apex council meeting in October last year. Apart from this, he gets a daily allowance of US $ 650 during foreign travel and Rs 15 thousand while staying in India. At the same time, he gets a daily allowance of Rs 30 thousand for work travel.
