IC814's cabin crew chief Anil Sharma has also expressed his objection to the Netflix series 'The Kandahar Hijack'. Anil Sharma, the chief pilot of the hijacked plane, raised the question that why were the names of two of the hijackers named after Hindu gods? There must have been some mischief on their part in this. He has also objected to his name being changed in the series and the rest of the crew members not being shown.

Regarding the Netflix series, Anil Sharma told in an interview that the code names of the terrorists were the same from the beginning. The filmmakers have not given these names on their own. But it is a matter of thought that why did these terrorists use the names of Hindu gods? No one thought about this in the last 24 years. There was some mischief in their mind due to which this was done.

Sharma also expressed dissatisfaction with the series' change of his name, as well as the names of his two pilots, flight engineers, and two air hostesses. He also questioned why the other five members of the flight crew were not featured in the series.

He also chastised Netflix for failing to correct a previous error in the terrorists' names. It is worth noting that on last Tuesday, Netflix India's content head Monica Shergill assured the government that the legal message before the series would be changed, and the real names of the terrorists would be revealed alongside their code names.
