After the end of the first quarter of FY24, all the companies are releasing their quarterly results one after the other. In this series, FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Limited has released its first-quarter results today.
The company said that the consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the first quarter ended June 30, 2023, increased by 6.9 percent to Rs 2,556 crore.
Apart from this, Hindustan Unilever Ltd said in a regulatory filing that the company had earned a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,391 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Consolidated total income for the first quarter stood at Rs 15,679 crore, as against Rs 14,757 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
The company said the total expenses are higher at Rs 12,167 crore as compared to Rs 11,531 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is a subsidiary of Unilever in India. HUL was incorporated as a company in India on October 17, 1933, but decades earlier, in 1888, HUL products made their way to India.
The company started as a soap factory in India and is currently the largest player in the FMCG sector in the country. HUL employs over 21,000 people and Unilever is represented in over 190 countries.
This company has more than 50 brands, out of which 16 brands sell 1000 crores. HUL's products are sold in over 9 million retail stores across the country. HUL has more than 3500 distributors across the country.
On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the company's shares closed at Rs.27.03, up by Rs.31 on the NSE. Currently, the market cap of the company is Rs 6,27,717 crore.
