Hindi will be taught in private schools of Kashmir after 32 years

Hindi will be taught as a separate language in private schools in Kashmir after nearly 32 years. The Jammu and Kashmir Education Council has formed a committee consisting of eight members for this. By February 20, the committee will submit recommendations for teaching the Hindi language from first to tenth grade in more than 3,000 private schools in Kashmir.
There are 23,173 government schools in Jammu and Kashmir. The Hindi language is taught in government and private schools in the Jammu region. In such a situation, the children of the Jammu region choose the option of studying Hindi as a language. While there is no system to teach Hindi subject in Kashmir. The main reason for this is the non-availability of Hindi teachers in government and private schools in the Valley, as Kashmiri Pandits who taught Hindi had migrated from Kashmir Valley since 1990.
Due to the non-availability of teachers to teach Hindi in the schools of Kashmir, the children have stopped studying Hindi. Presently, the situation is such that only English, Urdu and Kashmiri languages are taught in the private schools of the valley. However, Hindi is still taught in a few schools in the Valley. These are also the schools which are affiliated with the CBSE board. Schools affiliated with the CBSE board are also mostly Kendriya Vidyalayas. According to experts, the Hindi language was taught in more than 70% of private schools in the Valley before 1990.
Kashmir BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur has supported the teaching of Hindi in private schools in the Valley. Thakur said that language is not linked to any religion. Muslim children study Hindi in other states of the country as well. Learning a language has nothing to do with religion. On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Gupkar alliance Mo. Yusuf Tarigami says that the imposition of Hindi is against constitutional provisions. At the behest of the BJP, efforts are being made to implement Hindi in private schools in Kashmir. It will be opposed.
