Hernia surgery for the first time with a robot: Doctors of the surgery department of SMS Hospital

Operated the hernia of a patient admitted to the Department of general surgery through a robot at SMS Hospital, Jaipur. This operation was done by Dr. Sumita Jain, senior professor of the department, and her team. This is the first time when SMS doctors performed a hernia operation with a robotic machine.
Two months ago, in March, two robotic machines were purchased for surgery in SMS Hospital, out of which one machine was installed in the Urology Department in the Super Specialty Wing, while the other was in the Surgery Department of Man SMS Building. Although some surgeries have been done with robots in the surgery department, but hiatus hernia surgery was done for the first time.
SMS Superintendent Dr. Achal Sharma told that yesterday two surgeries of hiatus hernia were done simultaneously. The first surgery was done by a doctor who had come from Delhi to give training with the robotic machine, which was done on a 66-year-old patient. This was followed by Dr. Sumita Jain and her team members Dr. Yogesh Dadhich, Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Dr. Praveen Joshi, Dr. Sandeep Jangid. This surgery was done on a 33-year-old man.
In the surgery done with the robotic machine, 4 holes of 8-8MM were made in the patient's skull, through which the surgery was done. It took about 50 minutes to perform this surgery. On the other hand, it takes about one and a half hours to do this surgery with laposcrapy. Apart from this, blood is also released a little more during surgery with laposcrapy and recovery is also a little delayed.
