So far 55 people have died due to the forest fire in the Maui island of Hawaii located in the middle of America. The city of Lahaina has been completely destroyed by a massive wildfire. More than 1000 buildings in the city have been burnt to ashes.

Hawaii Governor Josh Green said that it will take years and billions of rupees to rebuild Lahaina city with a population of 1.6 million after the devastation. According to the governor, 'This is the biggest disaster since 61 people died in a sea wave in 1961. President Joe Biden declared it a disaster on Thursday and released funds for relief operations. More than 14,000 people have been shifted to safer places.

The fire in the Lahaina area is 80 percent contained, he said. There is no electricity in the city for the last 24 hours and about 11,000 people are living in darkness. US Coast Guard Commander Aja Kirkske said that more than 100 people are feared to have jumped into the sea in an attempt to save their lives. Due to the smoke rising from the fire, the helicopter pilot is facing difficulty in the rescue work. Despite this one Coast Guard has rescued more than 50 people.
