GST collection increased by 15% in the month of December, Rs 1.49 lakh crore came in the treasury of the government

The Indian government collected Rs 1.49 lakh crore from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the month of December. This information was given by the Finance Ministry on Sunday. The Finance Ministry has said that there has been a growth of 2.5% in the GST collection in the month of December as compared to November. The gross GST collection in November 2022 was Rs 1.46 lakh crore.
At the same time, there has been an increase of 15.2% in the GST collection in December 2022 as compared to December 2021. The gross GST collection in December 2021 was Rs 1.3 lakh crore. After the December 2022 figures came out, a new record has also been created.
GST collection has crossed Rs 1.4 lakh crore for the 10th consecutive month. In April, the GST collection touched a record high of about Rs 1.68 lakh crore. At the same time, the second-highest GST collection was Rs 1.52 lakh crore in October.
In December 2022, the Central GST was Rs 26,711 crore, while the State GST was Rs 33,357 crore. Whereas the Integrated GST was Rs 78,434 crore and Cess was Rs 11,005 crore. The government has settled Rs 36,669 crore from Integrated GST to Central GST and Rs 31,094 crore to State GST.
After this settlement, the total revenue of the Center and the states in the month of December was Rs 63,380 crore and Rs 64,451 crore respectively. In the month of November, 7.9 crore e-way bills were generated, which was much higher than the 7.6 crore e-way bills generated in October.
