Government made a big announcement for CGHS holders, banned this work of health scheme
The Health Scheme (CGHS) is being run by the government for central employees. A few days ago, the government issued an order that all CGHS holders will have to link their ID with Ayushman Bharat Account. Now the government has issued a new order regarding this. Let us know in this article what new decision the government has taken now.
The government of India is running a Health Scheme for Central Employees known as CGHS. In this scheme, the employee and his entire family get benefits. Last month, the government instructed all CGHS holders to link their CGHS ID with Ayushman Bharat Account ABHA at the earliest. For this, the government had fixed a deadline of 30 June 2024.
Now, regarding this work, the government has issued a new order. In it, the government has put a blanket ban on linking CGHS with Ayushman Bharat Health Account ABHA. The government said that there is no need to link CGHS with ABHA. If they want it, then only CGHS holders will be able to link it voluntarily.
The ministry said the employees were confused about linking the two IDs. Many users felt that after connecting with CGS ID, the treatment facility in private hospitals would end or be reduced. The central government has said nothing regarding this.
The data obtained by the Ministry of Health pegs the CGS holders at 4521387. The ministry further said that one and a half lakh beneficiaries have linked the CGS ID with ABHA.
The ministry had once extended the deadline for the CGS- ABHA link some time ago. According to the ministry's order, the beneficiary was supposed to do this work within 120 days from June 30. Now, the government has put a stop to it.
