Government holiday declared on Sheetalashtami, assembly proceedings will continue

The government has declared a holiday on March 21 in the state capital of Jaipur. As per the collector's directive, government offices, schools, and colleges in Jaipur will remain closed on Friday. Then a weekend holiday will be taken on Saturday and Sunday. But assembly sessions in Rajasthan will continue to take place on Friday. In that case, most of the employees and officers who handle assembly work in government offices will have to report to duty even on a holiday.

It is worth noting that on Sheetalashtami in Jaipur, a big fair of Sheetalamata is held at Sheel Ki Dungri in Chaksu. Therefore, a government holiday is declared on this day, especially in Jaipur. The festival of Sheetala Ashtami is considered one of the important festivals of Hinduism. This festival is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Chaitra Krishna Paksha after Holi. There is a tradition of eating stale food on this day. For this, food is prepared and kept in the house a day before Ashtami. After this, on the morning of Ashtami, the food prepared at night is offered along with the worship of Sheetalmata. After this, only stale food is eaten throughout the day.
