Government has made big plans for India to lead the world in AI; Data labs will be opened in small cities
An American company recently said that the biggest challenge for AI in India would be the availability of data and its storage to enterprises. Keeping all these things in mind, the government has started manufacturing AI-related infrastructure in the country. So that in the future all sections of the country can get the benefit of artificial intelligence.

So that in the future all sections of the country can get the benefit of AI and India can lead the world in AI.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, preparations have started to set up data labs in 27 tier-2 and tier-3 cities of the country. A model-data lab of India AI has been established at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, New Delhi. Similar data labs will be established in Gorakhpur, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Buxar in Bihar. Data labs will also be established in cities like Kurukshetra in Haryana, Ropar in Punjab, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, Bikaner in Rajasthan, Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
With the establishment of data labs, the government has also started training youth on a large scale in the field of AI. Because in the future, AI will be used on a large scale in many sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education. At the same time, a large number of AI-trained labor forces will be needed in the country as well as around the world. The Ministry of Electronics and IT, in collaboration with NASSCOM, is running a platform called Future Skill Prime, under which training can be taken through this platform in sectors like Big Data Analytics, Robotics Process Automation, Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, Cloud Computing, Social and Mobile, Cyber Security, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things and Blockchain.
The Ministry said as many as 8.65 lakh candidates have so far been trained or are in process of completing their training under this program. The Government believes that AI is going to create a lot of jobs in data science, and data curation across the globe and the Indian youth can grab that.
According to the Ministry, ten thousand or more GPUs will also be installed at the establishment of an AI computing ecosystem. Work has been started on inviting applications from interested people to offer services related to AI on the cloud. According to it, India's AI Data Sets Platform is also being done under AI Infrastructure.
This would be on the lines of US-based dataset companies Hugging Face and Dubai Pulse under consideration. A separate focus is on financing AI startups to create innovation centers for delivering globally in the leadership of the AI sector. The other cities that would have establishment of data labs include Tezpur, Guwahati, Silchar in Assam, Bhubaneswar in Odisha, Calicut in Kerala, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Imphal in Manipur, Gangtok in Sikkim, Agartala in Tripura, Aizawl in Mizoram, Kohima in Nagaland, Leh in Ladakh, Shillong in Meghalaya.
