Along with this, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has also given guidelines for the RGI office. Now the Aadhaar database has been approved to be used during the registration of births and deaths.
The government has issued these instructions only under the Birth and Death Registration Act 1969. The government said in its notification that the registrar has been allowed to select either the option of yes or no in the reporting form birth or death. Now he can do the verification of Aadhaar number on a voluntary basis.
