Kaspersky antivirus has been banned in the US. The US Commerce Department has banned Kaspersky. After this ban, the sale of Kaspersky antivirus software in the US is also banned. This is the first time that such action has been taken against an antivirus company in the US. Let us tell you that Kaspersky is a Russian company.

US Commerce Department Secretary Gina Raimondo said in a statement, "Russia has repeatedly shown that they have the ability and intention to exploit Russian companies like Kaspersky Lab to collect and weaponize sensitive US information."

Kaspersky is headquartered in Moscow and has offices in 31 countries worldwide. Kaspersky has more than 400 million users and 2,70,000 corporate customers in 200 countries.

Along with prohibiting the sale of Kaspersky's antivirus software, the Commerce Department has added three of the company's affiliated organisations to the list of companies designated as a threat to national security.
