Google Meet: Along with the new pill-shaped search bar, large buttons for creating and scheduling meetings and creating groups have also been redesigned. Apart from this, Google Meet will now also give suggestions for calls to users in a grid.
Google Meet is rolling out a new call screen interface to all users. This change was initially implemented last year, but the feature was only available to enterprise accounts. The new call screen will feature a search bar at the top, and contact suggestions. Google recently introduced AI features in Google Meet that prepare notes after the meeting.
Google Meet's new call interface has begun to roll out to Android users. Along with this many other things are redesigned like the new pill-shaped search bar, large buttons for creating and scheduling meetings, and group creation. Apart from that, Google Meet will now suggest calls to users in a grid.
According to Google, these suggestions are based on their interactions like starred contacts or recently sent emails. Along with the new UI, Google has also introduced a new home screen shortcut that can be used for starting a meeting by entering the code. It appears as an option called "Code". Tapping on it opens up a place where you can enter the meeting code and start the meeting.
These changes are part of the Google Meet 266 update that is available for download. The new interface has not been spotted on iOS yet. Over the past few months, Google has come up with a number of new features on its virtual meeting platform.
