This change has started to take effect. Google has been shutting down such accounts forever who have not used the account for 2 years. Notably, a deleted account's Gmail address cannot be reused when creating a new Google Account.

Google account lying inactive for years is being deleted only for the privacy and security of the user. Actually, the inactivity of the Google account shows that the user does not need the account. Google has also kept its point clear regarding the inactive account. According to the new update from the company, only those Google accounts which have not been used for 2 years or more will be deleted. In such a situation, if you have not used platforms like Gmail, Play Store, Photos, or Google Drive for some reason by creating a Google account, then this decision will also affect your account.

The simplest way to keep your Google Account active is to sign in to your account at least once every two years. If you've recently signed in to your Google Account within the last two years, your account is considered active and won't be deleted.
