Relieving news has come out for the customers of Go First. GoFirst may resume scheduled flights subject to the availability of interim funding and approval of the flight schedule by DGCA. Aviation regulator DGCA has said that it has approved GoFirst's plan to resume operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, subject to certain conditions.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a release that the airline's restoration plan to operate 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights has been reviewed and accepted. It added, "The approval is subject to the outcome of the writ petitions/applications pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi and the Hon'ble NCLT, Delhi." News agency ANI has also shared this information by tweeting.
GoFirst may resume scheduled flight operations subject to the availability of interim funding and approval of scheduled flights by DGCA, the release said. Further, the regulator has directed GoFirst to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and ensure the continued airworthiness of the aircraft in operation.
The Go First airline, which has been flying for over 17 years, has been grappling with a cash crunch and ceased operations on May 3. Presently the company is going through the insolvency resolution process. Talking to news agency PTI, an official said that after the audit, DGCA had sought additional information from us, which we have submitted to them. Based on our responses, the regulator sought some more information for clarity and that information has been submitted today. He said that there is nothing to worry about.
According to the information, the airline has 22 aircraft ready and four of them are in reserve. The company is waiting for permission to start them. According to him, the airline is looking to get some 15-18 aircraft initially.
There are some pilots whose recency is to be cleared in 4-5 days, he said so next week we will have the remaining aircraft. The official said that in the first week, the airline will have 130 flights and then it will be increased to 160 flights in the next week.
