Globally, gold futures rose 0.71 percent to US$1,994.30 an ounce in New York.

In futures trade on Tuesday, the price of silver increased by Rs 289 to Rs 72,933 per kg. Today on the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery rose by Rs 289, or 0.4 percent, to Rs 72,933 per kg in 14,865 lots.

Globally, silver was trading 0.55 percent higher at US $ 24.09 an ounce in New York.
