Go First applied for ticket refund, hearing will be held tomorrow, know the whole matter

GoFirst has approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking permission to refund money to passengers who booked tickets to travel after May 3. Let us tell you that Go First has been suspended from operations. Go First has filed an application regarding this. This application has been presented before the Delhi bench of NCLT. In this application refers to Resolution Professional and CD Corporate Debtor or Go First.
The application is to be heard on Monday by the NCLT bench of Mahendra Khandelwal and Rahul P Bhatnagar. If allowed by the tribunal, the money will be refunded to those passengers who booked their tickets after May 3.
GoFirst ceased flights on May 3, 2023. The airline was unable to take off due to the non-availability of engines from Pratt & Whitney and technical difficulties. On May 10, the NCLT accepted GoFirst's plea to initiate the proceedings. Many passengers had already booked tickets before this. Many passengers had approached NCLT through e-mail or phone for a refund of canceled tickets booked.
The NCLT issued an advisory on 3 July. In it, he was asked to approach the RP for claiming a refund as per the procedure of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Along with this, he had said that all requests or claims for refund or any other related issue may be referred to the RP as per the provisions of IBC.
Last week, the NCLT dismissed the claims of the lessees of GoFirst's aircraft and engines.
