Gautam Adani again ahead of Mukesh Ambani in terms of wealth, Shahrukh Khan also in Hurun list for the first time

With a net worth of Rs 11.6 lakh crore, Gautam Adani (62) overtook Mukesh Ambani to top the 2024 Hurun India Rich List. According to the Hurun India report, a new billionaire was created in India every 5 days last year. The wealth calculation in the report is as of July 31, 2024

Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India, said, "India is emerging as Asia's wealth creation engine! While the number of billionaires in China saw a decline of 25%, it increased by 29% in India and the number of billionaires reached a record 334."

Mukesh Ambani is ranked second on the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, with a net worth of Rs 10,14,700 crore. Shiv Nadar and the family of HCL Technologies are ranked third this year, with a net worth of Rs 314,000 crore.

Cyrus S Poonawala, a vaccine manufacturer, and the family behind Serum Institute of India are ranked fourth on the list. They are followed by Dilip Sanghvi from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. In the last five years, six people have consistently remained in India's top ten. The Gautam Adani family tops the list. This is followed by the Mukesh Ambani family, Shiv Nadar, Cyrus S Poonawala and family, Gopichand Hinduja and family, and Radhakishan Damani and family.

Kaivalya Vohra, 21, who runs Zepto, a $5 billion quick commerce startup, is the youngest person on the Hurun India Rich List for 2024. Adit Palicha, his co-founder, is 22 years old and the second youngest on the list.

For the first time, Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan appears on the Hurun India Rich List. The primary reason for this is the rising value of his stake in the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The entertainment industry has added Rs 40,500 crore to the Hurun India Rich List in just one year. This sector has included seven people.
