On the other hand, Punjab produces only 3 percent of the gas but it gets 52 percent of the gas. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produces 15 percent of the gas and consumes 7 percent of the gas. Balochistan produces 12 percent of the gas and consumes only two percent of the gas.
The people of Gharibabad have also been facing a shortage of gas and electricity for a long time. Last month, the local people complained to the authorities but the situation did not improve. After which people took to the streets and protested. Women and children together blocked the National Highway. Due to this, the traffic of Karachi-Quetta was also badly affected. People burnt a transformer which was not rectified even after several complaints.
