Fundamentalists misleading youth through Telegram channels: Terrorist training sent to Kashmir and Afghanistan, NIA got important clues in the investigation
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has got new clues in the investigation of terrorist cases. According to the NIA, two groups named 'Eagle of Khorasan' and 'Hinder Eagle' have been identified on social media Telegram in Karnataka. Through these, the youth are being misled and radicalized in the name of religion.
After this, they are sent to Kashmir and Afghanistan for terrorist training. So far more than a dozen youth have been sent for training. NIA has started the investigation by registering a case in this matter.
The investigating agency had received information that Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Assam in Bengaluru, Karnataka, had links with the Al Qaeda network of Lashkar. He is working for many different terrorist groups. He has created two groups 'Eagle of Khorasan' and 'Hinder Eagle' on Telegram. The NIA arrested Akhtar Hussain Lashkar and one of his associates on 30 August 2022 by registering a case.
According to NIA sources, Akhtar and his accomplice used to contact the youth through social media groups. People belonging to the Eagle of Khorasan group were radicalized and sent to Afghanistan. The second group Hinder Eagle, is instigated against the action of security agencies in Kashmir by saying that Kashmiri Muslims are being oppressed. Terrorists from this group were sent to Kashmir for training.
