FPI raised money on the Indian stock market, invested close to 44000 crores in May
FPI Data May: Positive trends regarding the Indian economy continue from foreign investors. Foreign portfolio investment in May touched the highest level in 9 months.
A record Rs 43,838 crore has been invested in the Indian market by foreign portfolio investors in May. This is the largest figure of investment made by foreign investors in the last nine months.
According to the data released by the depositories, the FPI trend continued to be positive in June as well, with an investment of Rs 6,490 crore in the two trading sessions of the month.
VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services, told news agency PTI that the GDP data was better than expected and a high-frequency indicator showing that the economy remains strong.
According to the data, 43,838 crore has been invested by FPI in May. Earlier only in August 2022, a larger investment of Rs 51,204 crore was made by FPIs in the Indian stock market.
FPIs had invested Rs 11,630 crore in April this year and Rs 7,936 crore in March.
Due to the investment of FPI, there is a positive trend in the Indian markets. The benchmark Sensex and Nifty also remained close to their highest levels. Foreign investors have invested the most in India among developing countries. At the same time, FPIs are selling in China.
FPIs are investing the most in financial, automobile, telecom, and infra stocks. In 2023, now foreign investors have invested a total of 35,748 crores.
