FPI Inflow: Foreign investors made bumper investments in the Indian stock market, this sector remained favorite
FPI Inflow FPI is in a bullish mood regarding the Indian stock market. More than 30000 crores have been invested in May. However, during this period, the Sensex has seen a decline of about half a percent.
Foreign investors have invested over Rs 30,000 crore so far in May due to positive trends in the Indian stock market. The reason behind such a large amount of investment by foreign portfolio investors is believed to be the strong condition of the Indian economy, the possibility of a decrease in the interest rate, and the strong results presented by the companies.
Due to the strong investment in May, the figure of investment by foreign portfolio investors in 2023 has turned positive. According to the data of the depositories, an investment of Rs 16,365 crore has been made by FPIs.
Earlier, Rs 11,630 crore was invested by FPI in April and Rs 7,936 crore in March. At the same time, in January and February, FPI had withdrawn Rs 34,000 crore from the market. 1,057 crore has been invested in the debt market by FPIs along with investing in equity.
The market was volatile last week and the Sensex closed down 298 points or 0.48 percent.
Speaking to news agency PTI, VK Vijayakumar, chief strategist, of Geojit Financial Services, told PTI that this inflow from FPIs is likely to continue as corporate earnings are showing a pick-up.
