These days everyone is facing trouble with the expensive electricity in the whole world. Meanwhile, there are about four lakh families in the country using very cheap electricity and also their electricity expenditure has come down to only 20 percent compared to other means. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has said that about four lakh families under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana have started using solar energy equipment on the rooftops of their homes. The Central Government has targeted taking this scheme to one crore houses.

Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said while speaking at a program on Wednesday that the way the price of fossil fuel is growing across the world and the way pollution levels are rising due to them, leaves people with no other option but to adopt clean energy. He said they will encourage the use of clean energy for every task in the homes.

120 countries will be present at the seventh conference of the International Solar Alliance, which will take place in Delhi from November 3–6. The barriers to supplying the lowest cost solar energy globally will be identified and technologically addressed during this meeting, which is being chaired by India. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi will preside over this meeting, which is scheduled to take place at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam.
