Forwarded message feature will be available on WhatsApp Channels, know which users will benefit

WhatsApp launched the Channels feature in June and it helps users get important updates from people and organizations in the instant messaging app. The company is now working on a new feature, which will improve the channels experience.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is adding the forwarded message feature to channels. This feature will enable creators to expand their audience by including a channel link in forwarded messages.

The forward messages option is available to some users who have installed the latest updates of WhatsApp for both Android and iPhone.

The channel option of WhatsApp is currently available in only a few countries except India. The company is said to be revamping the channel section ahead of its release in other countries. In a recent revenue call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned the company's plans to introduce the channel in more countries during the rest of the year.

As per the report, WhatsApp has announced the introduction of the ability to forward messages from channels on its official channel. The company also noted that the feature will also make some special enhancements to gain new followers.

It has been told in the report that this feature is currently available to a limited number of users. To check whether it is available on a particular account, users can tap a message in the channel and select the 'Forward' action, just like a regular WhatsApp chat.

With the help of this feature, WhatsApp users will be able to share channel messages with their friends and family. This feature will also help channel creators to expand their audience by getting new followers. Users will be able to join a channel from the 'view channel' option given in the forwarded message.

The feature is available in a new tab called Updates, where users can also find statuses and channels they want to follow. However, this tab is separate from the usual chats for Family, Friends, and Communities.

WhatsApp is a one-way broadcast tool for channel admins to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. The company is also developing a searchable guide to help select followers, channels where users can find hobbies, sports teams, updates from local authorities, and more. WhatsApp users can also join a channel through chat, e-mail, or through an invite link posted online.
