Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reportedly passed away at the age of 92 in Delhi on Thursday evening, according to a social media post by Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

Taking to Instagram, Vadra expressed his grief, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Fmr Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you for your service to our Nation. You will always be remembered for your Economic revolution and progressive changes you brought to the country.”

Vadra also shared a similar message on X (formerly Twitter), which was later amplified by news agency ANI.

However, at the time of filing this report, there was no official confirmation from AIIMS Delhi regarding Singh's demise. Singh had been admitted to the hospital’s emergency department earlier in the day after his health reportedly deteriorated. Visuals shared by ANI showed Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi entering AIIMS Delhi, fueling speculation about the situation.

Manmohan Singh, who served as India’s Prime Minister during the UPA 1 and UPA 2 governments from 2004 to 2014, was a key figure in the country’s economic transformation. He gained national prominence as the Finance Minister under PV Narasimha Rao’s government from 1991 to 1996, implementing landmark economic reforms that liberalized India’s economy. Singh remained an active member of the Rajya Sabha until earlier this year.
