According to the data released by RBI, foreign exchange assets increased by US$ 3.089 billion to US$ 536.699 billion for the week ended December 8. Foreign currency assets include the appreciation of non-US units such as the euro, pound, and yen held in foreign exchange reserves.
RBI said gold reserves declined by US $ 199 million to US $ 47.13 billion during the week. The Special Drawing Rights of the Reserve Bank of India declined by US$63 million to US$18.188 billion. India's reserve position with the IMF declined by US$11 million to US$4.842 billion in the week under review, RBI data showed.
