Flight from India to Vietnam delayed by 10 hours: 300 passengers stayed in the plane overnight

A VietJet Airlines flight from Mumbai to Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City was delayed by nearly 10 hours due to a technical glitch. The 300 passengers aboard the flight remained inside the aircraft overnight. According to the passengers, during this time they were not given anything to eat. Nor were any arrangements made to take them to the waiting area.
As per the schedule, the VJ-884 flight was to leave Mumbai on May 25 at 11:30 pm. The flight did not take off till 5 pm on 26 May. A passenger told that at 7 am he was taken to the waiting area. In fact, according to the DGCA, if a flight is delayed, it is the responsibility of the airlines to make arrangements for food and hotels for the passengers.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation ie DGCA is a regulatory body of the government, which regulates civil aviation. It mainly investigates aircraft accidents and other incidents.
A passenger said – We boarded the flight at 11 pm. After an hour when the flight did not take off, we asked the crew. The reply was that the flight would take off late due to a technical glitch. No arrangements were made for us to eat or stay. We had to be on the flight till 5 in the morning. We were not even informed about the alternate flight.
