Fireflies Mission: Pixel will launch three hyperspectral satellites through SpaceX today
Fireflies Mission: Today, Bengaluru-based start-up Pixel is going to launch three hyperspectral satellites under SpaceX's Transporter-12 mission from California. Regarding this, Pixel said that once all the satellites will start working fully.

Three hyperspectral satellites named 'Fireflies' by the Bengaluru-based startup Pixel, each weighing 60 kg are set to take flight from California this Tuesday under the Transporter-12 mission by SpaceX.
These satellites are the first batch of a total of six satellites to be launched this year. Three other satellites will be launched in the next few months. These satellites will be sent to the Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 550 km.
Pixel further stated regarding the launching of the satellites, when all the satellites come into full action, it would be of immense help for industries and governments in terms of tackling global problems and making wise decisions along with taking considerable measures over climate-related issues.
The company also said that the Fireflies satellites have advanced sensors that are six times faster than the sensors of existing hyper-spectral satellites, which will make these satellites provide high-quality images and accurate information. Thus, Fireflies will become the world's most advanced commercial hyper-spectral imaging system.
