CRPF: According to the order of the Ministry of Personnel, Assam Police Chief Gyanendra Pratap Singh has been appointed as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He is a 1991 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

The name of the new DG of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been finalized. Assam DGP GP Singh is all set to become the new Director General of CRPF, as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet gave its approval.

The Ministry of Personnel issued an order, saying Assam Police Chief Gyanendra Pratap Singh will be the new Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He is a 1991 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, he has been serving as the DGP of Assam since November 2018.

The order issued on January 18 said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Singh as CRPF Director General till his retirement date on November 30, 2027. Senior IPS officer Vitul Kumar was holding the acting charge of the force after the retirement of Aneesh Dayal Singh on December 31, 2024.
