Thank God caught in controversies before release: Now Kuwait Censor Board has banned the film, which will be released on September 24
Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Thank God' is embroiled in controversies. Kuwait Censor Board has banned this film in the country. The makers recently launched the trailer of the film, after which the film has been mired in controversies. People liked the trailer of the comedy genre film, while some people are also fiercely opposing it.
The Kuwait Censor Board has postponed the release of Thank God. Apart from this, many films including Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol and Shreya Dhanwantri starrer film Chup have been cleared by the Censor Board. Other Indian films to release in Kuwait's theatres include Goodbye and R Madhavan starrer Dhoka: Round D Corner. Along with this, the Censor Board of Kuwait has also passed the Tamil film Sinam without any cuts.
The film Thank God will release on Diwali, but even before its release, the film has been mired in controversies. Actually, in the trailer of the film, Chitragupta is shown hitting different jokes in a modern avatar. A lawyer from Uttar Pradesh has filed a petition seeking registration of a complaint for mocking and misrepresenting Chitragupta in the film. The lawyer has accused the makers of the film of hurting religious sentiments.
Thank God movie is based on Indian Mythology. Ajay Devgan played the role of Chitragupta in the film directed by Indra Kumar. In this film, Siddharth Malhotra played the lead role, while Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in the role of his wife. Chitragupta is a Hindu deity, who is entrusted with the task of keeping a complete record of the deeds of human beings and giving them the fruits according to their deeds. The film will release in cinemas on October 24.
