The fifth season of the Global Taj International Film Festival for 2023 is all set to begin in Agra. This cinematic extravaganza, bearing the banner of Glamour Live Films and the Institute of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, is known as "GTIFF-2023."

Agra, the city of the iconic Taj Mahal, is poised to once again host meaningful screenings and awards nights, marking the festival's fifth consecutive year.

The "Global Taj International Film Festival-2023" is scheduled to take place from November 3 to 5 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University's Khandari Campus in Agra.

The festival will feature films from nearly ten countries, including India, during the three-day event.

According to festival director Suraj Tiwari, registrations for films from ten different countries have been completed, with an emphasis on socially relevant messages. In addition to feature films, the festival will showcase short films, documentaries, animations, and music videos.

Once the jury selects the films, the festival will screen the chosen projects for three days, with the jury members providing ratings. Based on these evaluations, awards will be presented to filmmakers and directors.

The event is hosted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University's Institute of I.T.H.M. with Dean and Director Prof. Y.N. Shukla sharing that the Masters' talk show and film workshops will be a central attraction. This event will provide an excellent opportunity for students at the institute to gain valuable experience and enhance their portfolios, while new filmmakers will benefit from interactions with renowned producers, directors, and technicians.

The film screenings will take place at the J.P. Sabhagar within the Khandari campus of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University.

Notably, several distinguished personalities from the world of cinema and beyond are expected to attend the festival, including dignitaries from the Dharak All Film Association, the West Media Chairman Abhijeet Rane, President of FWICE B.N. Tiwari, and producer members of the VFPA Mumbai. The event promises to be a star-studded affair with prominent actors, directors, and writers in attendance.

Moreover, the festival is expected to boost the city's recognition as a prime shooting location. With the ongoing work to establish a film city in Uttar Pradesh, Agra is poised to become a vibrant hub for cinematic endeavors. The festival will also serve as a platform for filmmakers to explore the city's shooting locations and foster connections with the local film community.

Notably, the festival will showcase films from a multitude of countries, including Italy, Israel, France, the USA, Africa, Bangladesh, Iran, and many others, alongside films from nearly all the states of India. After the selection process, these films will be screened for three days.

Additionally, the event will present the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Life Time Achievement Award and a special award dedicated to Saraswati Dadasaheb (the first female technician in Indian cinema), as it has done for the past four years. This award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the world of cinema.

The festival's opening film is expected to feature renowned actors and actresses, including the talented Archana Gupta, Rajkumar Kannoujia, and Ramesh Goyal, among others.

The event will also feature a curtain-raiser, an inauguration ceremony, and an award ceremony. The opening day will see the presence of esteemed individuals and dignitaries.

This grand celebration of cinema is set to be a platform for filmmakers, artists, and enthusiasts, fostering creativity and connections in the world of cinema. It promises to be a remarkable cinematic journey in the city of the Taj Mahal.
