Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has once again cornered Pakistan on terrorism. Jaishankar said that if there is a cross-border terrorist attack on India, our country is committed to responding to it. He said that since terrorists do not play by rules, there cannot be any rules for us to respond to them.

Jaishankar, while speaking on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, also targeted the then Congress UPA government. He said that even after many discussions at the government level, nothing meaningful resulted at that time.

Interacting with youth at an event titled 'Why India Matters: Opportunities for Youth and Participation in the Global Scenario', Jaishankar said that if a similar attack happens now and no one reacts to it, then further How can such attacks be stopped?

Jaishankar also said that there has been a change in the country's foreign policy since 2014 and this is the way to deal with terrorism. Asked about countries with which India finds it challenging to maintain relations, Jaishankar said India should question whether it should maintain relations with certain countries.

Jaishankar replied that there is a country right next to us and to be honest, we will only have to introspect to have relations with Pakistan. He said that if India had been clear from the beginning that Pakistan was engaged in terrorism, which India should not tolerate under any circumstances, then the country's policy would have been very different.
