'Ethnic conflict in Manipur is tarnishing India's image', Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary's statement on violence

On Saturday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said the ethnic conflict in Manipur was tarnishing India's image and all parties should try to find a peaceful solution to end it.
A delegation of 21 MPs from the opposition group India has reached Imphal to assess the ground situation in ethnic strife-torn Manipur. The team of opposition MPs will visit several relief camps to meet victims of caste clashes during their two-day visit starting Saturday.
"We have come here to meet the victims of caste conflict and understand the problem," Choudhary told news agency PTI. We want an end to the violence and restoration of peace at the earliest. The whole world is watching what is happening in Manipur. He also said that caste clashes have damaged the image of Manipur, the Northeast region, and the whole of India. We all have to make efforts for a peaceful solution. We have not come here to do any politics.
Let us tell you, the opposition MP reached Imphal by a commercial flight from Delhi. After reaching here, the delegation went to Churachandpur, where the fresh violence has taken place, to meet the victims of the Kuki community in relief camps. A security official told that 'for security reasons, they took a helicopter from Imphal to Churachandpur. Since only one helicopter is available, the delegation members were divided into two teams and the helicopter would make two trips to pick them up.
Another team, including Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and others, will visit the relief camp at Don Bosco School in Churachandpur, said a Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) source. After returning to Imphal, the Chowdhury-led team will travel by road to another relief camp at Moirang College in Bishnupur district to meet the victims of the Meitei community.
The second team of opposition MPs will visit the Ideal Girls College relief camp at Akamput in the Imphal East district and another at Lamboikhongangkhong in the Imphal West district.
