ESIC added 17.28 lakh new members in October 2023, 51 transgender employees also registered
Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) added 17.28 lakh new members in October. The ministry said that about 17.28 lakh new employees have been added in October 2023. More jobs have been created for the youth as out of the total 17.28 lakh employees added, 8.25 lakh employees up to the age of 25 years have been newly registered which is 47.76 percent of the total employees.
The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) added 17.28 lakh new members in October, according to provisional payroll data released on Friday. Releasing the payroll data, the Labor Ministry said in a statement that around 23,468 new establishments have been registered and brought under the Social Security Umbrella of ESIC in October 2023, ensuring greater coverage.
The ministry said that about 17.28 lakh new employees have been added in October 2023. More jobs have been created for the youth, as out of the total 17.28 lakh employees added, 8.25 lakh employees up to the age of 25 years have been newly registered, which is 47.76 percent of the total employees. According to the data, the net enrollment of women members in October was 3.31 lakh.
A total of 51 transgender employees were registered under the ESI scheme in October. The ministry said that this shows that ESIC is committed to extending its benefits to every section of society. Payroll data is provisional, as data creation is an ongoing exercise.
