EOW files FIR against Ashneer Grover: Case against wife Madhuri Jain and family members also

The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police on Wednesday (May 11) registered an FIR against former Managing Director (MD) of BharatPe Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain, and others. Officials said that BharatPe had filed a complaint against Grover and his family members last year.
In this complaint, the company accused all of them of misappropriation of funds. Based on this complaint of BharatPe, this FIR has been registered against Grover and his family.
The New Delhi-based fintech giant has accused Grover and his family of defrauding him of Rs 81.28 crore. Officials said that the EOW now has the authority to arrest all the accused.
If found guilty, Grover and his family could face up to 10 years in prison. The names of Deepak Gupta, Suresh Jain, and Shwetank Jain are among the other members of Grover's family against whom the EOW has registered an FIR.
This FIR has been registered in 8 cases of serious cognizable criminal offenses. The cases pertain to a breach of trust, fraudulent and dishonest delivery of property, forgery of valuable security, forgery of documents or electronic records, and criminal conspiracy. It has been said in the FIR that due to this, BharatPe has suffered a loss of about Rs 81.28 crore.
BharatPe filed a complaint against Ashneer Grover and his family in January 2022. In March last year, Ashneer Grover resigned from the post of Managing Director and Board Director of BharatPe.
