X TV: X CEO Linda Yaccarino, while wishing users a happy new year through a post on the microblogging platform, informed about the arrival of X Money and X TV. These services will provide additional functionality beyond just social media interaction. Also, improvements will be made to X's AI chatbot Grok in 2025.
X CEO revealed that the financial and streaming services will be launched in 2025. It is part of the microblogging platform's ambition to further become a "super app" and compete head-on with other platforms such as China's WeChat led by Elon Musk. He also revealed that the 2025 roadmap focuses on connecting users "in ways that were never possible before".
X CEO Linda Yaccarino said, in a post to wish users a happy new year, that the microblogging platform will bring X Money and X TV. In addition, both services will bring additional functionalities beyond social media interactions. Also, improvements will be made to X's AI chatbot Grok in 2025.
The move comes in line with the vision that the company explained when it changed its name from Twitter to X in 2023. Other major overhauls facing the company in the same rebranding were removing the traditional verification system, introducing X Premium, and replacing the iconic Larry the Bird logo with the X symbol.
It was claimed at the time that the platform would offer services such as audio, video, payments, and banking rather than just being a hub for microblogging. It was introduced with the ambition of creating "a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities."
